The Muriyad Service Co-operative Society Ltd 479 is established in 1944 May 14, i.e.; in 1119 Edavam 1st. (Malayalam era) under the leadership of Sri Ammunni Nair and other renowned personalities from Muriyad and Anandapuram locality. In the beginning there was no permanent office or other facilities and the institution was functioned under the name “Paraspara Sahaya Sahakarana Sangham”. Initially the bank offered loans at the door of its beneficiaries by obtaining financial assistance from Thrissur district co-operative bank. In association with the growth of the co-operative movement in Kerala our bank also involved and helped the public for all sorts of their well being. “Serving people for anything at any time”, with this slogan the society is at the summit of its growth. Under the leadership of the prudent Ammunni master’s energetic followers and their respective administrative committees, now the bank has become one of the fully computerized class 1 special grade co-operative banks of the state. |

| The present administrative committee is led by Sri. K.U. Vijayan, an energetic young man. Sri. Vellayath Unnikrishnan Master and Sri .M.B.Raghavan Master have served the society as administrative members for a long period. In 2004, in connection with the 100th year of Indian co- operative movement, as a result of a special campaign we made all families transact with our bank. Now the bank, along with a branch at Anandapuram, provides all kinds of service to the whole families under its jurisdiction. | |||||
